David

This is the story of David, the lines in his young face witness to the sorrow that he has seen. David lost his father to a war that seemed to be surrounding his home every day, every night. He is separated from his mother and sister, but he knows they are close and he can’t wait to see them again. David is one of thousands who are forced to leave the place they call home because it is no longer a safe place to be. He has one eye toward the hope of a future and the other eye toward the truth of his past.

You might think that David has no place to be and that he can never be happy again, but this is not the case. He will never forget the things that he has seen, but he will find a place within himself to keep his sadness so that he can go on. We all think and feel and breathe and hope. There are so many people who are willing and able to help David along his way. The winds of our Land of Terra connect each of us, one to another. Perhaps we might carry David’s burden for a bit so that hope will grow in his heart and he can be a boy once again.
